Z-Wave
Door locks, sensors and plugs at 9.6, 40 and 100 kbit/s, on the European and North American channels.
Z-Wave sits below the Zigbee crowd at sub-gigahertz, which is why it goes through walls better and why it never shows up on a 2.4 GHz survey. All three data rates are read, so an old sensor at 9.6 kbit/s appears beside a new lock at 100.
Frames name the home id and the node, which is enough to count the devices in a home network and see which of them are talking, whether or not the payload is secured.
What comes out
- Home id and source and destination node ids
- Frame type and the command class where it is in clear
- Data rate, and the channel
