Band III
DAB
An ensemble and the stations in it, with their programme types and bit rates, and the one you pick playing, DAB or DAB+.
A DAB ensemble is a bundle of stations sharing one transmission, and reading it tells you what is in the bundle: the ensemble name, every service on it, what kind of programme each is and how many kilobits it has been given, which is the number that decides how it sounds.
Pick a station on the channel strip and it plays: MP2 for DAB, HE-AAC for DAB+, the frames checked against what welle.io makes of the same recording. The blocks are named on the spectrum, so 11C reads as 11C rather than as a frequency to look up.
What comes out
- Ensemble name and id
- Service names and programme types
- Bit rate and protection level per service
- The block, named from the band plan
- The picked station, as sound
Sound goes through ffmpeg, so it plays in the macOS download and a source build; the Linux, Windows and browser builds list the ensemble without it.
