Amateur VHF and UHF
M17
The open digital voice mode, decoded in full: callsigns, packet messages and Codec 2 speech, with nothing patent encumbered in the way.
M17 was designed to be implementable without licensing anything, which is why it is the one digital voice mode here that decodes to audio in the published builds. Callsigns are carried in the stream rather than as numeric ids, so a call reads as two people rather than two numbers.
Packet mode carries text and arbitrary data, and those arrive in the message view in full.
Checked against off-air captures, asserted against what the transmission itself says.
What comes out
- Source and destination callsign
- Stream or packet mode, and the call length
- Codec 2 speech, decoded and playable

Something did not decode?
Record the burst with --record and open an issue with the capture. A capture that decodes becomes a test fixture.
