Watch shipping and safety traffic

AIS positions and vessel identity on the map, Inmarsat STD-C safety broadcasts, and COSPAS-SARSAT distress beacons with the position they encode.

AIS puts vessels on the same map as the aircraft, with identity, position and track, and marine VHF voice runs on channels of its own in the call list beside them.

Inmarsat STD-C off an L-band patch carries the EGC and SafetyNET broadcasts sent to those vessels, which is the traffic that says what is happening rather than where a ship is.

COSPAS-SARSAT beacons at 406 MHz are read for the EPIRB, PLB or ELT identity and the position they encode, drawn on the same map.

Feed your own sensors into Home Assistant

Every transmitter the decoders can name becomes a Home Assistant device over MQTT, with no hub, no bridge and no cloud account for the sensor you already own.
